Day 13 -- Aaron and Dana had to work on our first full day there but gave us some ideas as to what to do around Phoenix. The suggestions were great but we took one look at their backyard and decided that we were going to relax (it was a vacation after all) in their pool for the first part of the day. Aaron and Dana have two beautiful golden retrievers who love to swim. Pictured here is Fender. Coco couldn't swim with us because her stitches from being spayed were still too new and couldn't get wet.
Aaron warned us not to swim with Fender because his claws would tear us up. Aaron told us he is a fast swimmer (He is!) and that he would use the person throwing his toy to "push off" (He did)
We took our chances and played fetch with Fender in the pool. (Look at that face and tell me you wouldn't do the same!) My bathing suit protected me but Adam did get a nice swipe to the belly. He recovered quickly and he will be the first to tell you it was all worth it.
It was probably 100 degrees that day and swimming and sunning with Fender was a perfect way to start it off.
