Day 11 -- Gabe took us to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Saguaro National Park. The "museum" is really an outdoor zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden, all in one place. We spent hours walkin thru the desert enjoying the weather (it was monsoon season in Tucson while we were visiting so the tempeture was perfect and not unbearably hot) and learning about the 300 different animal species and 1200 different species of plants that thrive in a desert environment. It was the perfect way to spend the day in Tucson.
If you enlarge the photo of us, you will get a better view of the saguaro cactus.
